Aaron is making a name for himself in amateur road course racing, traveling around the Western United States driving on iconic tracks like Sonoma Raceway. Recently a team driver for All Surface Racing, he has been working hard to refine his racing line on various road courses. It all started 3 years ago with the purchase of a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI that was in need of some attention. Originally owned and modified by Kelly at Tigwerks located in NV. The engine was rebuilt/modified by Goodspeed Performance Labratories in Scottsdale, AZ and tuned by Clark Turner Tuning November of 2015. Over the past nearly 3 years the car has slowly transformed from a street to track car. Finally in 2018 officially putting down some hot laps at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, CA. Aaron is competing in The Challenge Series: AWD Subie Challenge 2018 and practicing refining his driving line at Speed Ventures track days throughout the year.
Due to TBI - traumatic brain injury, remembering every corner of so many road courses is very challenging. Keeping up with brain fitness and concussion therapy is a key to his success. Thankfully Rebecca Bassham BS, RT, BCN, QEEG-T Double Board Certified Neuro Physiologist, Director of Neuroscience at Pure Recovery California and owner of Edge Neurofitness, helps Aaron stay in tip top shape. Keeping him on a strict diet of wholesome nutritious food, exercise and neurofeedback training.
With a full-time position at Desert Technology Systems Inc. as the Special Projects Director and Phoenix area Service Engineer, racing is a part time venture till further notice. His ASR teammate Richard Cooper, a seasoned ASR team driver, helps Aaron maintain, make necessary repairs and upgrades to the race car. Richard is also Aaron's mentor, teaching him the necessary techniques and habits to become a skilled well rounded driver. Byron McMahon Cutting Edge Fabrication, Joe Morell Goodspeed Performance Labratories, Clark Turner Tuning and Steve Helmersen SH Fabrication also provide support and modifications.
